14th European Symposium on Religious Art Restoration & Conservation
(ESRARC 2025) - Iași, România
In memoriam Dr. Iulian Rusu
The 14th edition of ESRARC symposium is part of the series of events dedicated to the 165th anniversary of the founding of Romania's first modern university, the University of Iași.
The symposium is scheduled to 23 – 24th Octomber 2025 and the sessions will take place in the structure part of “Alexandru Ioan Cuza” University of Iasi, named ”Casa Universitarilor” located in 11 Carol I Blvd., Iasi, Romania. “Casa Universitarilor” is an historical monument recently restored, built in 1800 by Iordache Cantacuzino.
In the immediate vicinity of this cultural center is „Alexandru Ioan Cuza” University of Iasi and “Gheorghe Asachi” Technical University of Iasi. Many other religious and civil structures are located in Iasi, the third largest city in Romania. Iasi has traditionally been one of the leading centres of Romanian social, cultural, academic and artistic life. It was the capital of the Principality of Moldavia from 1564 to 1859, then of the United Principalities from 1859 to 1862, and the capital of Romania from 1916 to 1918. The city and the surrounding area house more than 100 historical churches and 10 monasteries, including Moldavian and Bukovina Metropolitan Cathedral (1839/1886), Princely Saint Nicholas Church(1491), Socola Monastery (1562), Golia Monastery (1564), Galata Monastery (1582), Saint Sava Monastery (1583) etc.
14th edition of ESRARC is dedicated to the memory of dr. Iulian Rusu, Editor in Chief and founder of European Journal of Science and Theology, The symposium is dedicated to the memory of dr. Iulian Rusu, one year after his departure from us. A university professor of academic rank, co-founder of the symposium (along with prof. dr. Nicoleta Melniciuc), dr. Iulian Rusu has made enormous efforts to organize each ESRARC edition and maintain the quality of the symposium at high levels. The organizers wish to honor his memory through an exceptional edition of ESRARC.
